Then, in the morning, the bhikkhuni Sisupacala dressedand, taking bowl and robe, entered Savatthi for alms. When she had walked for alms in Savatthi and had returned from her alms round, [130] after her meal she went to the Blind Men's Grove for the day's abiding. Having plunged into the Blind Men's Grove, she sat down at the foot of a tree for the day's abiding.

Tỷ-kheo-ni Sisupac�l� v�o buổi s�ng đắp y,cầm y b�t đi v�o S�vatthi để khất thực. Khất thực ở S�vatthi xong, sau bữa ăn, tr�n con đường đi khất thực trở về, Tỷ-kheo-ni Kis� Gotamii đi đến rừng Andha để nghỉ ban ng�y; sau khi đi s�u v�o rừng Andha, rồi ngồi xuống một gốc c�y để nghỉ ban ng�y.

Then Mara the Evil One approached the bhikkhuni Sisupacala and said to her:

Rồi �c ma đi đến Tỷ-kheo-ni Sisupac�l�; sau khi đến, n�i với Tỷ-kheo-ni Sisupac�l�:

-"Whose creed do you approve of, bhikkhuni?"

-"N�y Tỷ-kheo-ni, N�ng th�ch th� t� gi�o của ai kh�ng?"

-"I don't approve of anyone's creed, friend."

-"N�y Hiền giả, ta kh�ng th�ch th� t� gi�o của ai cả."

[Mara:]
"Under whom have you shaved your head?
You do appear to be a recluse,
Yet you don't approve of any creed,
So why wander as if bewildered?"

[Sisupacala:]
"Outside here the followers of creeds
Place their confidence in views.
I don't approve of their teachings;
They are not skilled in the Dhamma. [134]
But there is a scion of the Sakyan clan,
The Enlightened One, without an equal,
Conqueror of all, Mara's subduer,
Who everywhere is undefeated.
Everywhere freed and unattached,
The One with Vision who sees all,
Who attained the end of all kamma,
Released in the extinction of acquisitions:
That Blessed One is my Teacher;
His is the teaching I approve."

[Mara:]
V� ai N�ng trọc đầu,
Hiện tướng nữ Sa-m�n?
N�ng kh�ng th�ch t� gi�o,
Vậy n�ng tu cho ai,
N�y kẻ Ngu muội kia?
(Sisupac�l�):
Những kẻ tin t� kiến,
Thuộc ngoại đạo t� gi�o.
Ta kh�ng th�ch ph�p họ,
Ta kh�ng giỏi ph�p họ!
C� d�ng họ Th�ch-ca.
Đản sanh Phật v� tỷ,
Ng�i chinh phục tất cả,
Ng�i đại ph� ch�ng ma,
Tại mọi chỗ, mọi nơi,
Kh�ng ai chiến thắng Ng�i.
Ng�i giải tho�t ho�n to�n,
Kh�ng bị g� triền phược.
Bậc Ph�p nh�n thấy khắp;
Tất cả nghiệp đoạn diệt,
Giải tho�t, diệt sanh y.
Thế T�n, Đạo Sư ta,
Ta th�ch gi�o ph�p Ng�i.

Then Mara the Evil One, realizing, "The bhikkhuni Sisupacala knows me," sad and disappointed, disappeared right there.

Rồi �c ma biết được "Tỷ-kheo-ni Uppalavann� đ� biết ta", buồn khổ, thất vọng, liền biến mất tại chỗ ấy.
